- The Short StoryIn a nutshell
I'm the co-founder of adventure travel specialists Another World Adventures, the place to go if you’re looking for inspiration for an out-of-the-box travel experience or to join a group for an extraordinary journey.
When I'm not busy finding trips of a lifetime for others I try to pack in as many of my own as I can and enjoy writing about them.
Some favourite adventures include sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, cycling from London to Paris, travelling from London to Hong Kong by train, boat, horse and hitch-hiking and exploring West Africa in our 21 year old Nissan Patrol called Mama Pou.
I love wine and marmite (but not together), hate grey weather, don't take life too seriously, and can't sit still for long. I hope my children inherit my wanderlust in the same way I did from my granddad.
I also run PR and Comms projects via This Chapter Ltd taking on projects in strategic marketing, PR and communications for a number of commercial and non-profit clients. I specialise in work and campaigns that focus on environmental justice, human rights, social enterprise, renewable energy, adventure tourism and sustainable development.

- ProjectsMuch more on my projects in the blog ... but here's some I made earlierA Journey With Maps
Between 2012 - 2015 I was one of the core team for the Monrovia Visitors Map in Liberia and development of the Accra Visitors Map in Ghana. The free maps beautifully depict the cities and their landmarks, including most of the ministries and agencies of government, as well as showcasing many businesses and enterprises such as restaurants, hotels, and shopping venues. They are a must-have for all visitors to these lively Capital cities in West Africa and can be downloaded as PDFs or used on smart-phones and tablets for free before you travel.
Let the Sun ShineThe dire warnings from the UN's intergovernmental panel on climate change continue to conclude that if the world is going to avoid meltdown then we need to move to renewable energy sources pretty sharpish.
Big60Million was a new type of community-benefit energy company created to share the benefits of UK solar farms with as many of the UK’s 60 million residents as possible and I was responsible for their local and national communications and media work
Another World AdventuresAnother World Adventures was founded by myself and Tori Howse on the deck of a 100 year tall ship sailing transatlantic to Brazil. It's the place adventure seekers come to discover inspiring, unusual and exciting trips from specialist adventure operators around the world. We started helping people find great adventures in 2013 with our first two clients setting off to trek from West Africa's Guinea to the Atlantic Ocean in Sierra Leone by foot and raft. Since then we've inspired lots of adventure-seekers to step outside their comfort zone and try new things in new places. In Country ExpertsIn Country Experts is a fixing agency I ran with Seanan Denizot in Liberia. Projects are currently on hold but for the most part we get a kick out of problem solving the things that stress you out. We're a unique support service that brings bright fresh creative ideas and solutions to the private sector, non profit, and international development orgs in Liberia. Think event planning, PR, communications, navigating the complicated systems, finding talent, that kind of thing. One of my favourite projects was as the PR for two huge UN vehicle auctions in northern Liberia by the border with Guinea and Cote d'Ivoire where our skills and ace team shifted over 100 used UNHCR vehicles from motorbikes to ambulances. All in a days work eh!
JUST ForFor five years I set up and ran the JUST FOR... project. JUST FOR ... collaborates with high-profile designers and celebrities to raise awareness and funds for the Environmental Justice Foundation's (EJF) work protecting people and planet particularly the Pick Your Cotton Carefully campaign, which addresses the human and environmental issues that are involved in the cotton industry. To date the project has been supported by a host of international fashion designers and celebrities including Vivienne Westwood, Katharine Hamnett, Christian Lacroix, Giles Deacon, Kenzo Takada, Luella, Eley Kishimoto, Jenny Packham, Emma Cook, Lily Cole, Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor, David Gandy, Gillian Anderson, Diana Vickers, George Craig and Poppy Delevingne.WritingI've written compelling copy forever for my PR work, mostly without my name on top for other people or brand communications. I don't know how many hundreds of pieces of coverage it's had as a result - many I know. More recently I started sharing my work as 'me' and I've been published in a range of travel and lifestyle media including magazine Cover Features for in-flight magazines Brussels Airlines and Arik Wings and culture curious websites like the Culture-ist. I'd love to do more so shout if you're looking for contributions on environmental justice, human rights, social enterprise and entrepreneurs, renewable energy, women in work, adventure travel & tourism or sustainable development.
